[Ailist] re positive core of America

Dear Sue,
I agree with Charlotte and appreciate all who are willing to share their thoughts
about AI
including those that might be considered political. I cannot think of any realm that
needs AI more than politics. When I ask students to free associate in class and
among other words I say politicians I hear "crooks," "cheats," and similar terms,
often worse. I have never heard "statesmen." With a more positive attitude
towards politicians that AI could bring, we will attract to the profession people
for whom we will be grateful.
Appreciatively Yours,
Harry J. Bury

Dear Sue,
I lived in Canada for 30 years and now the US. I found this conversation
not necessarily political, but an opportunity to understand the deeper
meaning of AI and how it applies to various topics. It helps me grow in my
own understanding and application of being appreciative. I welcome all
discussions.... some are more interesting to me then others..... I am amazed
at the willingness of people to share so much. I grow from everyone who
shares. I delete those that are not of interest to me, but at the same time
appreciate their generosity and willingness to sharing their ideas.
In appreciation of all who share...

Hi All. My understanding of the AI List Serve is that it is intended to be
Global in focus. The discussion around positive core of America, while
valuable overall, is a topic that alienates those of us who are unable or
who choose not to contribute to this conversation. I recall a few years ago
when the entire conversation when to the American priorities, political
arena.
My ask is that if this listserve is indeed to serve the broader community of
AI practitioners, that we steer away from what some of us might consider
"political conversations" and stick to what we value and what we have wishes
for in this world.
My understanding in participating in the AiListServe was to contribute to
the AI community and make every effort to withold my own gain whether than
be monetary or otherwise. Would you be willing to clarify if that is still
the case or we are making this arena a free for all for politcal agendas?
(including Canadian??!)
Thanks. Sue Derby
