Hi folks.
I'm mostly a lurker on this list who has been involved in AI in the
legal
profession for about 10 years. That is, I've been shaping my work with
AI
principles, focusing on what works about the legal profession, looking
at
more meaningful ways of practicing law, occasionally facilitating AI
processes or participating in them. I've also used AI in my own work
with
divorce and business clients. I am so grateful for AI and all it has
provided for me and for this community of support.
This week, I launched a huge project that is based in AI principles:
www.cuttingedgelaw.com.
It is an on-line documentary series with stories of transformation,
courage
and innovation told by the pioneers of the movement. They're not sound
bytes
but are divided into 10 minute segments which often provide intimate
glimpses into the lives of the storytellers. We have 133 video clips
about
restorative justice, collaborative law, contemplative practices,
humanizing
legal education, holistic law and a variety of other approaches which
are
healing, peacemaking approaches. We have lawyers telling their
stories and
thereby telling the story of the development of a movement in law that
has
gone from a handful of weirdos to the establishment of several thousand
problem-solving courts, training of ten thousand lawyers in
collaborative
law, etc.. We are also an on-line magazine with text content on those
topics and more, including one about Appreciative Inquiry by Kathy
Clark.
And we're a community, a social network of practitioners in those
fields.
We post CuttingEdgeLaw.com generated content every day and our members
are
already beginning to join in adding to the massive library of ideas and
information.
While this stage is focused on lawyers, as our directory is populated,
we'll
be promoting the site to clients as a place to get holistic legal
advice and
find a New Lawyer for their legal matters.
Our launch took four years of preparation, including a full year of
content
collection, and it is just the beginning. We've already captured the
attention of some of the news media. An international magazine, a
reporter
for a national mainstream magazine, and a state legal publication are
talking with us now.
Please celebrate with me and refer all your lawyer clients, friends, and
colleagues to the site!
Warmly,
J. Kim Wright, J.D.
