Dear Colleagues and Friends:

Happy New Year! I hope you are all well and thriving, in spite of the
traumatic times we seem to be going through around the globe. May 2009 be a
time of peace and prosperity for us all. Certainly our AI work moves us in
that direction!

I'm writing to update you on the Appreciative Inquiry workshops and
gatherings available in 2009 from the NTL Institute of Applied Behavioral
Science and, with the Colloquy and the AI Certificate program, in
partnership with Case Western Reserve Universities School of Organization
Behavior. (Case offered the first PhD in Behavioral Science in 1950 at the
request of NTL members who saw a need for a program in the growing field of
OD.)

NTL is the birthplace (in 1947) of the field or Organization Development
(OD) and a place of innovation and experimentation for OD practitioners and
organization leaders for all fields and in all parts of the world. People
trained at NTL have, over the years, led organizations to realize that their
"human capital" is their most valuable asset.

Appreciative Inquiry (AI) was created by Dr. David Cooperrider and his
colleagues at Case in the 1980's. Since then AI has spread around the globe
as a process aligned with this "Post Modern" age of shifting paradigms and
the accelerating speed of change.

AI Certificate Program - This is a program that includes 6 AI workshops
spread over time as it fits the schedule of a participant. The Certificate
is offered by NTL in partnership with Case. Each programs listed for this
program can also be taken as a "stand alone" course for those who want one
or more courses without being in the Certificate program. For information
about dates and costs of the Certificate Program and/or of the individual
workshops, go to: NTL.org; click on Program and Services; certificate
programs; AI Certificate Program.

AI Gatherings in 2009 - The AI Colloquy's 4th annual gathering will be in
Bethel, Maine, birthplace of NTL and location for NTL summer workshops and
gatherings since 1948. The Colloquy takes place in Bethel this year from

July 23 - 26 and will feature leading AI Practitioners as presenters plus
Open Space sessions for practice sharing. Information about the Colloquy
will be on the NTL.org site by early February. PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR!

If you want to speak to a staff member at NTL about these programs, the
number is 703-548-8840 and ask for the program staff. If you have questions
for me about any of this, drop me an e-mail. Even on the road I manage to
check messages! Hope you will join us!

PLEASE PASS ON TO YOUR COLLEAGUES AND FRIENDS!!!
