Appreciative Inquiry teaches us that conversations can inspire - if conducted with intention, care and skill, conversations - especially between two people can be a great source of energy, optimism, and creativity - can build awareness of competence in the moment.

So a website has been created - http://conversationsthatinspire.wetpaint.com

The purpose of the website is to help people have experiences of conversations that inspire them, to help people learn how to help inspiring conversations happen, to help people lead conversations that build awareness of competence, that build confidence. - Aslo to help the people help other people become aware of these ideas - competence is already there - and shining a light on it helps it grow - so conversation has photosynthetic parallels---hmmm

In another listserve Mike Jay wrote about scaffolds of support - I hope and believe that Conversations that Inspire are very consistent with Mike Jay's ideas of Scaffolds of Support. Conversations in which we help our partners (and ourselves ) feel inspired are one way to build these scaffolds - and there is always plenty of material

We would love people to come and share the ideas - that by asking inviting questions, listening with interest, finding something to admire and asking for more - conversations can grow pathways to almost instant feelings of capability, energy, hope, and confidence - faster than a speeding mushroom.

Mike
