[Ailist] staying positive

I have so enjoyed the conversation about positive and negative. I am
grateful for all of the sharing and wisdom in this community.

What occurred to me was that the idea of positive and negative emotionality
or thought, is a construct built on the metaphor of electromagnetism (EM)
and possibly thermodynamics. Looking at the duality as a metaphor I can see
the systemic view. The arena where the meaning depends who is talking and
what the context is is important. I think what is truly profound is the
resource that can be accessed when a "positive" is perceived. Malicious or
not.

The metaphor of EM works for me because the power of our imaginations
(images and ideas) are coupled with the relative nature of gravity in
systems (magnetism repels, attracts and hold neutrals).

I am moved by the images Peggy's story created for me about death in
community and her mom's will to die well. Those moments in life that have
such gravity are such fertile soil for the growth of appreciation. From
these and other stories I learn that the duality of +/- allows us to create
a linguistic fountain of power and gravity.

Perhaps, the +/- is the Mandelbrot set of our existence. Our hearts and
minds in a dance unraveling us and wrapping us up again, depending how you
are looking at it at any given time.
