There is, as you may well know, an emerging field of positive psychology studying and discovering things about happiness, wellbeing, human flourishing, hope, optimism, strenghts, flow, lives that go well, compassion, international comparisons, cultural differences in wellbeing, relationship with wealth, etc. The evidence is that people can become happier / enjoy more wellbeing, and not only is it good for them (health, success) but also good for others. But you can't 'make' yourself happy. You have to create the right conditions for wellbeing to emerge. And you probably become less narcissistic and more balanced and integrated along the way. Tim.
