This is a workshop we have developed that explores how generative meeting
processes, such as Appreciative Inquiry (or Open Space, World Cafe, or
Future Search), can channel the spirituality of the participants involved
and even the forces of the cosmos, and which also helps us as
facilitators develop the skills of non-attachment we need to let things be
truly generative, and not a product of our individual will.
Workshop: The Spirit of Facilitation, May 30-June 1 at the Voluntown Peace
Trust.
Unstructured meetings can be a waste of time - or deteriorate into
destructive arguments. But meetings that are *too* tightly controlled limit
possibilities and stifle group energy, the source of creativity and growth
in any group.
There is a happy medium - meetings that have some structure but don't
attempt to control every messy moment. To facilitate this kind of meeting
means stepping back and letting the meeting create itself. This requires
more than techniques; it requires spiritual grounding.
In a weekend-long workshop entitled, *The Spirit of Facilitation*, Insight
Unlimited Partners Alice Leibowitz and Grace Potts will help you find the
spiritual source of your own best facilitation experiences.
Friday May 30-Sunday June 1 at the Voluntown Peace Trust, 539 Beach Pond
Road, Voluntown, CT. Price is a sliding scale $95.00-$250.00 including
vegetarian meals and dormitory-style housing. Special dietary needs can be
accommodated for an additional fee of $10.00.
