Good morning,
I’m sure I’m not the only one to notice the connection between AI and
the writings of Carl Rogers.
Perhaps a prerequisite to understanding AI is becoming a fully-
functioning” person. By the way, I’m still working hard at both
processes. :)
Rogers spent most of his career describing the healthy person, does
this sound familiar? :)
In his collection of essays, On Becoming a Person (1953) there was a
section of his book, The Good Life and the Fully Functioning Person.
In that section he listed the characteristics of the process of
becoming a person.
Rogers was interested in describing the healthy person. His term is
"fully-functioning," and involves the following qualities:
1 - An increasing Openness to Experience
2 - Increasingly Existential Living
3 - An increasing Trust in His Organism
If you Google Carl Rogers you will find a huge amount of hits.
The best,
Hank Kearns
