Dear all,
I find this interesting in my current context - working in India where there
is a simultaneity of hierarchy and affection, knowledge and ignorance, power
and despair. And this is the just the CEO!! Imagine the turmpil in
organizations that are always overachieving and yet it is never enough!!
Bill Torbert's work to develop an explicitly hierarchical process of growth -
and the different techniques to support people as they grown form levels has
fascinated me. Some of the technologies described seemed too extreme to me in
the past - but he does claim some success.
I wonder - does anyone have more updated info? I looked at his site and no news.
And a broader question - are we willing to work in personally unpalatable
manners to support the growth needs of our clients?
Cheers
