*Welcome to TØNSBERG-NORWAY - where the future is created*
*We are proud to invite you to the conference "Learning and managing
lives"on April 10
**th in Tønsberg, Norway. Tønsberg is the oldest city in Norway, and in the
afternoon after the conference we also invite you on a sightseeing tour to
show you some of our historical attractions. *
*We who are responsible for this conference have throughout the last three
to four years been so fortunate that we have become acquainted with and
practiced the method Appreciative Inquiry in the organizations we lead and
work in. *
*We mainly work in schools and kindergardens or in the municipality and are
responsible for developing organizations to become more efficient and more
accessible.

We have been participants in striking and profound changes! Organizations
have changed from being quite ordinary to become places where colleagues
with enthusiasm, pride and joy set "hairy goals" and reach them! *
*We have all experienced the strength and the energy lying in the
Appreciative Inquiry approach.*
*One of the main principles in this approach is sharing our "golden moments"
and to understand why and how to make more of these situations. Therefore we
invite you to this conference in Norway, giving us the chance to share our
experiences with you and to learn more from all the participants in the
different sessions and workshops. *
*The conference opens with a speech from Dr PhD Linda Metcalf from Texas
Woman's University. She is known for her solution-focused approach in
dealing with children and adolescents. She will talk about how this way of
working discourages blaming and disallows past experiences to take over
current and future events. Building on strengths and competencies makes up
the process which proves to work for many issues. Linda will also lead a
seminar before lunch and a workshop after lunch based on two of her books.

The other seminars and workshops will be examples and experiences from
kindergardens, schools and a work institute where the organizations have
approached different areas by the use of Appreciative Inquiry. *
*The work institute is a course and training center for youngsters between
16 – 22 years aiming to motivate, prepare and educate for further education.
Some sessions will focus on areas relating directly to the children or the
adolescents. Other workshops will focus on developing organizations, and one
workshop will focus on the collaboration between the school and the parents.
*

*We are looking forward to meet you!! *
