[Ailist] Appreciation vs. Cynicism

Actually I think this thread represents what actually happens when 
people get together to Dream and Design within an AI. It isn't all 
positive lightness because people are passionate about their dreams. How 
people dialogue with those they disagree with is the core of AI and 
being AI. This is one of the reasons I have spent the last 7 years on 
naming elephants and helping people learn how to have a constructive 
conversation. Those skills are rarely taught explicitly and they are 
needed to turn the corner to a collaborative, appreciative 
organization.  Rather than focusing on AI, I see my work as a pre-cursor 
to AI and I came to it by listening to my clients.
We are all going to see the world in a unique way and we all want to be 
heard and feel essential. It takes courage to speak up and I welcome our 
sometimes stray threads in order to learn more about why we need all 
those opinions.
