[Ailist] Appreciation vs. Cynicism

Why would these comments be insulting and prejudicial? I have noticed unnecessary consumption and grotesquely slothful behaviour by western white people and I feel that there are too many of us doing so. There are not enough resources on this planet to sustain human life at present population levels - furthermore, our slothfulness and consumerism is leading to extinction of species that further limit the capacity to sustain life. Appreciative thinking will not majically create resources, but appreciate thinking will improve our behaviour. If we do not change our behaviour and limit our numbers there will be massive shortages and tension.
My comments are based on western white people behaving more responsibly and creating a better example for others to emulate. I suppose that there are plenty of western non-white people as well as non-western non-white people who could behave more appropriately, but I believe that they have learned from our inappropriate examples.
I suppose my comments ARE confronting, but perhaps some of us need to consider our personal habits of consumption and find appreciation in something other than the antics of Paris Hilton.

I will respect Mr. Baird's request to alter the thread. I find Lionel's
quotes above insulting and prejudicial. It makes my point that appreciative
potential and dialogue go only as far as our prejudices allow.
