I appreciate everyone’s responses. I’m attracted to AI because of it
idealist goals. It is looking for the best of situations, the best in
organization, and the best in people, and I guess I’m constantly
doing a “reality check.” Can this work? Does this get the best out of
people? Can I use this to get the best out of my life and
relationships? IIn Robert Wright’s book Nonzero, he explains his
theory that humanity is evolving from a zero-sum game focus to a more
nonzero game. AI fits nicely into the nonzero game. My wife, a
history teacher, is watching the HBO series Rome. I cannot watch it.
Caesar and the Romans were successful because the killed anyone who
disagreed with them or stood in their way of their goal. Watching the
Democratic Primary Action, I think that Hillary is probably related
to Caesar.:) In all seriousness, we have come a long way. Steve Jobs
is not all negative and hostile or however you want to describe it,
and perhaps he is successful (however you want to describe that too)
in spite of his non AI qualities. If we can make it to the next
election quickly enough without blood shed in the streets and Bush
cannot within that time waste any more of our blood, treasures, or
honor I think there is hope that we will make more leaders who are
more AI like.

Just my thoughts as a admirer and often lurker to this list.
