I appreciate this comment personally as both a mechanical engineer and a
priest.
It is way too easy to get trapped into our social constructions of one group or
another and radically miss the wonder of their humanity and the way they live
meaningful lives.
In my experience engineers are highly imaginative, because they are always
imaging how to fix things and make them better. The task is to tap into their
way of imagining. Walt Disney used the term imagineering to describe his work
and I use it a lot to describe how I like to work with individuals and goups as
they imagineer their preferred future.
