Hi Stan,
I am introducing balanced scorecard and Ai in a manufacturing setting to
develop excellence. 'Performance Measurement' and 'How we work together' are
two of the factors I include in my own model of what is needed to generate
operational excellence. The balanced scorecard is one particular application
of performance measurement and not a bad thing in itself. However I'm going
to add one caveat.
A balanced scorecard is typically based on a prediction of the near future
and what each element of an organization needs to achieve in order to
respond effectively to that prediction. Of course if the prediction turns
out to have been incorrect or if an unforeseen opportunity arises blind
adherence to hitting the numbers on a scorecard can be very
dis-advantageous. One good aspect of introducing Ai is that it raises
awareness and ability to communicate freely when such circumstances arise.
It puts performance measurement in context in an ever changing environment.
So the scorecard and Ai come together as part of a package but are not
linked directly they are complimentary.
Roger

To All:
Does anyone have a good example of a social service agency that used the
balanced scorecard?
Does anyone have a good example of a social service agency using
appreciative inquiry and balanced scorecard to create an organization of
excellence?
Does anyone have a good example of a social service agency used a model
that
was called organization of excellence?
