[Ailist] "Story" for knowledge transfer

Hi everyone ... I'm looking for some people to interview for an article.

Have you ever told a story to help out a new co-worker? Has the "story technique for knowledge exchange" been discussed in your organization as a potential means of capturing tacit knowledge before it walks out the door?

I'm writing an article about the use of "story" as a way of collecting employee know-how before baby boomers retire or other employees move on to new opportunities. If you have experienced story as a means of knowledge transfer--either as an employee or a facilitator--I'd love to ask you some questions about it. Perhaps you know of organizations who use this approach... or maybe you have friends who have have had experience with this technique. Please send them this email.

You can read more about what I hope to achieve at my blog, "Possibility: where story and information intersect."

Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

Kind regards,

Shelley
