I feel like The Secret marked the pinnacle of a new, modern Western version of religious extremism to join rampant consumerism and other religious extremist philosophies as the greatest threats we face. Julian does an excellent job of dissecting these concepts. Glad you enjoyed.

    I think one of the biggest dangers for AI is if it becomes too infiltrated by inspiring, but misguided New Age ideas. I came across this blog post by a very wise individual that really sums up a lot of my feelings about the insidious nature of some of these core assumptions and thought I'd pass it along:

  Excellent point, Howard.  And the blog post by Julian Walker is also excellent.  He was one of the most astute debunkers of the infomercial-masquerading-as-Wisdom, The Secret.  His approach to an "integral" approach to life is very powerful, if challenging.
