[Ailist] Using AI to assess and redesign an intranet

Colleagues,

I am currently engaged by a large organization to assess current use and
design and develop a vision for a new intranet site within this
organization.  I'm curious about designing an interview and survey format
that are detailed enough to be useful in the needs analysis phase
(discovery)  of the project, and yet also provide direction for the future
goals of the system.  We will also be designing a customer satisfaction
survey which will produce ongoing satisfaction reports to facilitate
decision-making for management around priorities for improvement, etc.

I'd like to know if anyone has done something that is similar, or has
suggestions about 

Structuring the interview guide
Designing an ongoing customer satisfaction survey Using technology to query
a larger portion of the customer base using survey technology, such as
survey gizmo or another software Facilitating a design team located in two
sites, using technology to real time brainstorm, identify themes, cluster
themes and prioritize
