I am working on a presentation incorporating AI into collaborative law and would love some help. Operating on the principle that appreciative attitudes and thinking among the collaborative professionals will enhance the collaborative process, I'm seeking your ideas about how to tailor appreciative thoughts and perspectives for each of the 5-D phases (see below). I think your suggestions and ideas can apply far beyond this particular presentation.

The presentation will be delivered to collaborative law practitioners. Collaborative law is a voluntary, client-driven, win/win dispute resolution process guided by a team of lawyers, communication coaches, financial planners and other professionals trained in the collaborative law process. We will be grounding them in AI principles and process – which are entirely consistent and hugely supportive of collaborative law. I am looking for suggestions about what perspectives they can hold as they enter into each phase of the collaborative process.

We are adapting the 5-D model of Definition (choosing an Affirmative Topic for a successful collaborative resolution), Discovery (eliciting the client’s stories of success, strengths, values, dreams), Dream (envisioning a mutually successful outcome for all parties), Design (steps, structures, relationships, communication skills necessary to fulfill the vision), Delivery/Destiny (developing an agreement and plan to achieve optimal resolution).

Adding a bit of complexity, there are 5 different relationships we want attendees to think affirmatively about at each AI/CL phase – 1) relationship to self, 2) attitude toward self as collaborative professional, 3) attitude toward the collaborative process, 4) relationship to clients, 5) relationship to collaborative team.

The question is: what thoughts, beliefs and perspectives will most contribute to the success of each phase as we participate in each of the 5 relationships. I’ve attached a matrix in which I drafted some answers for the Definition Phase. Feel free to alter them and add your own ideas to any of the other phases.

ANY other ways of thinking about this question are welcome!!!

All my best,
Susan
