In keeping with the list requirement to avoid duplicating what went before I
have deleted some very heartfelt comment and sharing of experience (on being
there for people who have just lost loved ones) but want to say to Anna
especially that I agree that the important thing is to appreciate one's life
and the life of those who have just departed.

Many wise people before I came into this world have given advice on this
subject and for me the important thing to recognise is that tradgedy is
tradgedy. Loss is loss and feelings of sadness, anger loss and all of those
other waves that create turbulence and confusion are part and parcel of this
distressing experience.

It is an aspect of life - like the waning of the moon, the seasons and the
vast multitude of changes that constitute life.

It is not, in my view, a time to pathologise or analyse or even ask for
professional help as much as to feel the pain, be able to share it with
someone (who appreciates our/the situation) and hopefully be comforted in
easing the focus from loss and pain to recognising the good and the
wonderful.

All the best from down under here in Aussie.
