>From reading through the Commons Archive, I can see that most of the participants are discussing problems, questions, or issues about implementing AI or facilitating AI training. I'm coming from a different angle, but I doubt I'm the only one with my question.
I just stumbled across AI for the first time this past week (my Zen teacher was talking about her experiences at a recent big AI summit or hoo-ha or whatnot at Disney World, and I was bowled over by what she related--I've been looking for something like this in the work world for decades; I had no idea it was going on).
I'm between jobs, and I now definitely want my next job to be with a business that is currently using AI or at least has started down that road. I happen to be in Austin, TX, but I assume that the way of tracking down this kind of information would, in a general way, basically be the same no matter where one might be located. I don't know that it's relevant to my question here, but just in case it is, the work area my experience is in is knowledge engineering for high-end software (tech support and tech writing/editing and knowledgebase web access for tech support).
I've looked at the Corp for Positive Change list of clients and I've looked through the AI Commons list of AI practitioners and AI organizations. And, of course, Google: Appreciative Inquiry Austin TX. So I have some possible starting points from these.
I'm just wondering if there are some resources I haven't thought of. I've been out of the job search loop for about six years, so some of my networking gears are pretty rusty. There might be some things blindingly obvious to folks who have been around the AI world for a while that I'm completely missing.
If you were trying to find out what companies in your area are already using AI, how would you go about it?
