[Ailist] Lean Problem Solving and Appreciative Inquiry

I see AI as focusing on the positive - moving towards something you WNAT and it drives/helps you "step over/through" the barriers that are in the way. I would define "typical problem solving" as the approach of "what is not working and let's come up with a fix". I see these as different approach. I know in healthcare we have put "fixit band aids" on processes and that created more work or layers of bandied over the years. There are times to step back and say "what is it that we WANT to have" and sometimes to blow things up and start over versus applying another quick fix.

I have a college president who is wondering how appreciative inquiry
can be used to support their focus on the Malcolm Baldridge Quality thrust
for the college. I am looking for examples of how AI can be used in
a typical problem solving approach.

Subject: [Ailist] Lean Problem Solving and Appreciative Inquiry

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any examples, articles, or case studies using
Appreciative Inquiry in conjunction with Lean (developed by Toyota)
Process Improvement?
I know this may sound like a contradiction; but I am trying to use
Appreciative Inquiry in the Lean Problem Solving Model. I am a student
in the MSOD program at Pepperdine University and hope to develop a
thesis around this topic.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
