[Ailist] Compelling Invitations

Hello all,

I'm working with a couple of colleagues to develop several regional sessions for an
organization. (This is starting to become a bit of a specialty for me for some
reason.) The idea is to conduct four regional sessions around the province using an
identical full day process in each region. Several members of the provincial
leadership team will be going to all four sessions that I will be facilitating.

In designing the day, we had considerable discussion around how to invite people. The
focus is on operationalizing the provincial body's strategic direction throughout the
regions and so participation from the various regional leaders is important *and* we
want the process to be as voluntary as humanly possible. So . our conversation
centred around developing "compelling invitations" to promote the sessions.

We have a couple of examples of invitations and I didn't find them particularly
compelling. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this subject and I'd be willing to compile
your responses and make them available to the List in a couple of weeks.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Regards,

Bill Scott BSW, MBA
