Hi Lenore,
We worked with a hospital using AI to improve patient safety. The project
entailed redesigning a patient handoff process from the emergency department
to a telemetry unit. One outcome of the process was culture change. I've
attached a short write up which is also posted on AI Commons. A more
detailed description of the process is included in this month's Journal of
Nursing Administration (JONA). Also, Susan Wood has an article about AI and
hospitals in the October 2006 issue of JONA.
Best,
Mike

Subject: [Ailist] Heath care- Hospital Culture Change
Hello all;
I"m seeking any papers or research pieces on cultural transformation/change
in hospitals using AI. I found several pieces a month ago on the Commons
site- but can't re-locate. If anyone can point some out- that would be great
and 'appreciated'!
All the best,
Lenore

"The message is that each of has what it takes to become fully enlightened.
We have basic energy coursing through us. Sometimes it manifests as
brilliance and sometimes it manifests as confusion. Because we are decent,
basically good people, we ourselves can sort out what to accept and what to
reject... what will make us sane, complete and grown up and what - if we are
too involved with it- will keep us children forever. This is the process of
making friends with ourselves and our world. It involves not the parts we
like, but the whole picture, because it all has alot to teach us."
