Hi everyone:
My name is Mukul and I am fairly new to Ailist group. However I have found
this forum very interesting to share thoughts and have insights from others.
I read about Appreciative Inquiry for the first time in 2003 in school while
studying MBA. I am active supporter of AI philosophy and can imagine its
huge potential in the current environment.
Currently I am trying if I could introduce this concept in my organization,
initially at my group level, i.e. "customer service".
My company is a sort of Crown Corporation, service oriented and having
unionized environment. Recently when I had my first introductory
presentation, I got a couple of feedback as below:
1- AI philosophy is a bit counter culture to be used in our organization.
2- The words "Dream" and "Destiny" do not sound impressive for the audience
in business environment. It should be replaced with some buzz words.
I am just wondering whether it is common as a first reaction and if so how
could I pursue further. Do you have any substitute for the words "Dream"
and "Destiny" which could invite attention in business environment?
Would appreciate your comments.
Mukul
