Hi Michael,

Here is one example for you:

I facilitated a 3-day AI summit in Sweden with about 70 people from across
the whole Nordic region in summer 2005. The theme was “One team, one
company, leading from the front”. Their objective was to create a pan-Nordic
team that would support each other in sales across the region, where
previously they had operated in national “silos”.

The Summit was very successful in creating the relationships and providing
the change in mentality needed to meet their goals. Nine different
Innovation Teams worked on specific projects post-Summit, all designed to
impact the overall pan-Nordic teamwork objective. Two years later, the
general manager is highly satisfied with the outcome and looks back on the
Summit as a critical step to increasing the profitability of the Nordic
operations.

I wrote this up as a case study in my 2006 article “Problem-Solving was
Never This Easy: Transformational Change with Appreciative Inquiry”
published in the Performance Improvement Journal (Wiley). I can send you a
copy if you would like more details.

Suggestions for themes: if you are doing this with a group of facilitators
my first choice would be to inquire into peak experiences in facilitating...
This is practically sure to create great interest, energy and
experience-sharing!

Good luck and best regards,
