Hello Cheri,

This is an interesting idea, if we are sure that generative always means
positive. I have tended to see it as neutral, meaning that we can just as
well generate a world full of negativity as one full of positivity.

I would agree we sometimes overuse the word positive, but discussing AI with
no mention of positive at all might be a step too far!

Maybe we could mostly replace the word positive with generative, but take
care to set the context and be clear what we mean.

Best regards,

Marvin

Tangentially related to this conversation is a question I have related to
"positive" vs "generative". I wonder whether we could replace the word
"positive" everywhere it appears in the Ai literature with "generative" and
thereby dissolve the dichotomy. For example, The 5ht AI Principle: Instead
of Positive Principle, what if it becomes the Generative Pricicple--the more
generative the question ...

Does this work?

Cheri
