I did my Pepperdine MSOD thesis on An Appreciative Inquiry into the Role
Islam plays in Organizational Decision Making and Practices and lived and
worked in the Gulf for 10 years where I was responsible for implementing
succession and career planning for a financial institution so would be
happy to share my perspective on this. I also am an interculturalist with a
focus on the Gulf and Islam. And lastly, I'm also originally from Calgary!

At a very high, generic level, here are some initial thoughts:
* AI is a beautiful cultural fit with the Arabs and the Gulf ones
particularly so I'm thrilled that you are approaching it that way.

*	succession planning rarely looks like what it does over here-partly
due to strong tribal/family nepotism, partly "ishallah"-God Willing, partly
a conflict adverse culture, partly holistic time orientation that goes
against the somewhat mechanistic, sequential aspect of succession planning.
*	Manage your own expectations and be clear on what they actually want
from such a program.

Please feel free to contact me directly so I can learn more about your
specific challenges and provide more thoughts
