[Ailist] AI: How much theory to give?

I will be undertaking an AI process across the country to look at racial
diversity and tolerance.  In each of the cities where we will be travelling
to, we will be grouping the key project stakeholders to listen and record
their experiences and stories.  I was wondering how much background or
theory on AI colleagues give to the stakeholders before or after the
storytelling?
