A client of mine is looking to hire a project manager/business analyst and
is looking for flexibility and ability to "turn on a dime" as well as other

Job Description – IT Project Manager/Business Analyst
As the IT Project Manager/Business Analyst the ideal candidate should have
at least 5 years of combined business, project management, team leadership and
IT experience. Specific experience in the investment banking industry is a
major plus. The candidate will:
• Take the lead in gathering user/client requirements and will be
responsible for writing/producing clear project documentation such as: business
requirements, scope documents, project risk assessments, project status reports,
risk logs, project plans, etc.
• Be responsible for engaging the various technology groups for the
appropriate project resource allocations.
• Conduct project kick-off meetings to communicate individual roles and
project expectations to the team to ensure that all project team members
understand the project scope.
• Monitor projects throughout the project life cycle on an ongoing basis,
evaluate progress and quality, manage the issue resolution process and take
corrective action as necessary.
• Work proactively by analyzing existing business processes, identifying
client issues associated with these processes and matching these issues to
available technologies effectively, in effect, generating their own project work
load.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, resourceful and a persistent
person who is skilled at getting results, often from senior colleagues or from
project team members who do not work directly for the PM.
The person should be comfortable working in a virtual environment with
vendors, clients, & technical colleagues based in other locations around the
world. The candidate should be a team player with excellent communication skills
and have the ability to explain complex technical issues and risks to
non-technical people. In addition, the candidate will need to be able to translate
business requirements to technical colleagues who will need to understand them
well enough to know how to meet them.
The successful candidate should have:
• A college degree, as well as specialized training or equivalent work
experience
• Minimum five years of combined business, project management, team
leadership and IT experience
• Experience with projects in multiple technologies, functions (e.g.
compliance, risk management etc.) and industries
• Knowledge and experience using multiple software packages such as
Microsoft Project, MS Visio, MS Office, etc.
• Experience managing geographically distributed functional teams with
strong team management, leadership and coaching skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A demonstrated ability to develop strong client relationships
• Knowledge of reporting tools such as Crystal Reports is a plus.
• Project Management Certification a plus
