Ailist -- Appreciative Inquiry Discussion List

About Ailist
English (USA)

AIList is a forum for individuals interested in learning more about the practice of Appreciative Inquiry. The list has over 1500 subscribers from all over the world. Questions are welcome, as are case postings, observations, and other experiences that can help all list subscribers improve their organization change practice. If you are looking for general reference material, the AI Commons is a great resource: http://ai.cwru.edu/

We have a few practices we ask all to observe:

1) As a user of the list, try to keep in mind everyone else involved. We have many subscribers outside the U.S., and in many cases these individuals have to pay access charges to connect to the internet. Getting messages that are off topic and with redundant content is very costly. In addition, we have many users who are participating using modems and connections that take considerable time to download, and they are also very concerned about the length and relevance of the information posted. It is okay to post long messages, just be sure the information is relevant.

2) Please quote only relevant portions of messages to which you are responding, not the entire message. Make sure that your email software is not set to automatically quote the entire message.

3) Please do not post administrative messages, or other messages meant for an individual, to the entire list.

4) Please make sure that your postings to the list are in TEXT only format. Messages in other formats (e.g., HTML) may be returned if the ratio of formatting to message is very high.

If we can adopt these few practices that help all participate, we are all better for it. Thanks for your help in making these simple practices something we all do routinely.
